Rising up and protesting unjust governments is the right of every citizen of planet Earth. However, you've seen the kid at the protests that is there because it makes him look cool. He joins the black bloc because he wants to smash windows and then drives his parent's SUV home. He takes on third world people's oppression as if it is his own and then sexually harasses women in his scene.
This song is about that asshole. If you are a political activist, it isn't about you. Some of you will know who we are talking about.

What were we protesting again was it trade

Lets not waste this opportunity to co-opt someone else's real oppression.

We can't feel like the victim of something, anything

A families savings are erased by runaway inflation
and the matriarch can't break the cycle of poverty on her own
and an unfair subsidy forces farmers to sell the season for less than a living wage
